Batch Image resizing using Snagit on Desktop Computer
Objective: This guideline provides a step-by-step instructions on using Snagit software on the desktop computer to resize multiple images with high-resolution to a smaller file size.
Pre-requisites:
- The user has access to a desktop computer/laptop
- Snag-it Software version 12 or higher is installed.
Procedure:
- Browse to the folder where the original images are stored.
- Select the images intended for batch processing. You may add more images in later steps if needed.
- Right-click -> Choose Snagit -> Batch Convert Images
- A wizard window appears with selected images being listed. You may browse to add more images by clicking "Add Files", or proceed to the following step by clicking Next.
- In the Conversion filters window, use the drop down list to choose Image Scaling -> Resize Image
- The Resize Image window provides several options to perform the modification. If you are unsure about the scale options, use the "Scale by percentage" and adjust the Height/Width parameters (i.e.: 50%). It is advised to keep other options checked. Click OK.
- You will notice that the first conversion filter has been added. If you wish to apply other filters, repeat the same steps. (i.e.: add captions, rotate, add watermark, change color mode). Click Next when ready.
- Select the Output directory, file format (JPG is recommended for a reduced file size with good quality - click options to change the quality settings only if needed).
- Select the file name. Avoid using the original file name if the output directory is identical to the file source. Click Next to review the process summary, then Finish to complete the operation.
- Review the image output to validate quality and size. Repeat steps if necessary.
